Data Center Operations Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, and maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical and Mechanical Equipment Troubleshooting: Utilize your expertise to identify and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
- Operational Experience: Provide operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including routine rounds and log-taking of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Supervision of Contractors: Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Safety and Security: Maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture, ensuring remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams.
You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You will collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Requirements- Knowledge of Electrical Competencies: Possess knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
- N6 Engineering Qualification: Hold an N6 Engineering qualification in Electrical or Mechanical.
- Experience in Data Center Operations: Have 2+ years of experience in data center operations, preferably with knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls).
