Job Title: Nurse Specialist in Neonatal Care

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Specialist in Neonatal Care to join our team at the Centre Hospitalier de Valenciennes. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to newborns and their families in our maternity unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure the transfer of the newborn and their parents from the delivery room to the postnatal ward in collaboration with the midwife and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide a warm welcome to the newborn and their family, ensuring a high level of care and attention.
  • Collect information about the newborn's environment and health status, including the realization of entry/exit summaries.
  • Administer appropriate care and surveillance to newborns and mothers, taking into account any pathologies or medical conditions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the clinical condition of the newborn and their mother.
  • Assess and manage pain in newborns and mothers, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the auxiliary nurse or healthcare assistant to provide nursing care.
  • Support mothers in their daily activities and provide education on childcare and parenting.
  • Respect and support the psychological well-being of newborns and their mothers.
  • Encourage and support mothers in their breastfeeding goals.
  • Foster a strong bond between the newborn and their mother.
  • Ensure the traceability, control, and evaluation of care provided, with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Prepare the newborn and their family for discharge, providing education and support as needed.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with healthcare professionals and families.
  • Supervise and mentor student nurses and junior healthcare professionals.
  • Transport newborns for medical examinations using the PTAH software.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with other healthcare services.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of hygiene and asepsis rules, as well as safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of common pathologies, such as pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, and hemorrhage.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare software and technology.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
