The Intellectual Property Group at POSITIS consists of a diverse team of professionals located in various countries, ensuring a global perspective on intellectual property management.
We are currently seeking an Intellectual Property Manager for Seating Solutions. This role will be based in our operational hub and will report directly to the Group IP Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering comprehensive patent services and managing the patent portfolio for the Seating Solutions division.
- Providing strategic advice on intellectual property matters to the business unit.
- Validating initial filing decisions in alignment with the IP Group strategy and the priorities of the Seating Solutions division.
- Organizing Patent Committee Meetings to make informed decisions regarding patent extensions and portfolio management.
- Ensuring that patent clearance and freedom to operate requirements are met effectively.
- Assessing complex situations with financial implications and providing clear recommendations.
- Leading specific initiatives in collaboration with the business group and being accountable for key performance indicators, portfolio categorization, and budget adherence.
- Managing a team of IP professionals, delegating tasks, and leading cross-functional projects in cooperation with the IP Group Director.
- Coordinating with the IP Law organization as necessary to manage the intellectual property rights and freedom to operate for the business group.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An Engineering Degree or a Master’s degree in Mechanics and/or Electronics.
- EQE certification.
- Extensive experience in managing patent portfolios and freedom to operate issues, with a background in IP litigation considered advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of patent laws and procedures, particularly in Europe, with familiarity with other jurisdictions being a plus.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
