Director of Development

Staycity Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team in Paris. As a key member of our European Development team, you will be responsible for leading all development activities in Paris, managing our development pipeline, and driving growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to grow our presence in key markets
- Identify and evaluate business growth opportunities for fixed and variable lease contracts
- Compile and update lists of target cities for development and determine achievable development pace
- Attend hospitality events and maintain a high profile within the industry in Paris
- Monitor industry trends and their potential impact
- Establish and maintain strong networks of contacts to feed potential projects to Staycity
- Generate leads that conform to agreed strategies and standards
- Design and produce internal development status reports for the region
- Work effectively with colleagues to filter opportunities and establish project prioritization
- Establish good relationships with owners, partners, lenders, and investors
- Establish budgets and utilize external resources as required
- Work closely with the feasibility team in Dublin to assess potential opportunities
- Negotiate and agree upon deal terms with owners, leading to the signing of Heads of Terms or Letters of Intent
- Work closely with local contractors to move forward with technical aspects of the project
- Manage all development projects from A-Z and manage owner relations
Requirements:
- Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent level qualification
- Five years of experience in the real estate and hospitality industries
- Expertise in real estate finance, development, and an in-depth understanding of the hospitality sector
- Knowledge of financial reporting and variable and fixed hotel leases
- Entrepreneurial attitude, stamina to source and close deals, and ability to manage the development process independently
- Ability to take ownership of the project and be responsible for the strategy and growth
- Successful track record of development deals in the hospitality industry or comparable sectors
- Previous experience in France/Paris is essential
Additional Requirements:
Superior communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, are critical. The ideal candidate will possess high levels of credibility and respect within the European hospitality industry, enabling immediate recognition as a key member of the European hotel development community.
This person will be extremely relationship-oriented and successful at nurturing long-term relationships that yield rewards.
Compensation:
A competitive compensation package matching industry standards and an annual bonus ranging between 25% - 45%. The position is home-based and will need to be located close to an international airport. This is a full-time position and not a consulting contract.
