Our diverse team of over 350 professionals from 38 nations is committed to realizing this ambitious and innovative vision. Based in Grenoble, we have recently launched our Verkor Innovation Centre, which serves as both a research and development hub and a 4.0 pilot line.
Currently, we are focused on constructing the most advanced and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk, aiming for an initial production capacity of 16 GWh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, sufficient to power 300,000 electric vehicles annually.
Position Overview:We are seeking a Facility Chemical Engineer to join our Construction team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development of our future gigafactory, which will be equipped with cutting-edge machinery for manufacturing cells and modules for electric vehicles. You will engage in a multidisciplinary engineering environment focused on the physical infrastructure of our industrial facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Design conceptual frameworks for equipment and system enhancements or upgrades.
- Oversee and execute all stages of new construction and renovation projects, including planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
- Draft comprehensive project documentation, encompassing budgets, staffing, schedules, and other relevant project details.
- Conduct technical project evaluations and prepare detailed analyses and recommendations.
- Modify existing systems and equipment to enhance efficiency, safety, reliability, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Supervise the activities of contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with facilities engineering standards.
- Coordinate with consulting engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams during the design and construction phases.
- Create designs, layouts, drawings, and material lists for significant maintenance and facility improvement projects.
- Review structural, mechanical, electrical, utilities, site, environmental, and other engineering drawings for the facility.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with regulatory codes.
- A degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction projects.
- Fluency in both English and French.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset.
