Postdoctoral Researcher in Code Generation Innovations

Meta is on the lookout for a Postdoctoral Researcher focused on pioneering methods in code generation utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) at FAIR (Fundamental AI Research). Our team is dedicated to publishing influential research and developing frameworks and libraries that are extensively utilized within the open-source community. We engage in collaborative efforts with various organizations at Meta to translate cutting-edge research into practical applications.

Key Responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Researcher in Code Generation:
  • Conduct research aimed at addressing unresolved real-world challenges and advancing the state of the art in code generation with LLMs, particularly in handling long-context inputs and generating long-form outputs.
  • Independently conceptualize and execute algorithms, train advanced models on extensive datasets, and assess their efficacy.
  • Draft scholarly articles and refine them based on insights from peers, mentors, and reviewers.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing or in the process of completing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or a related field. The degree must be finalized prior to commencing employment with Meta.
  • Research experience in areas such as LLMs, code analysis and generation, machine translation, machine learning, deep learning, or similar domains.
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Solid understanding of deep learning principles and neural network architectures.
  • Experience with programming languages, particularly Python, and familiarity with shell scripting.
  • Must secure work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing scalable machine learning models in areas such as code analysis and generation with LLMs, unsupervised/semi-supervised training, or related fields.
  • Experience with large-scale model training, algorithm implementation, and evaluation of LLMs.
  • A proven history of significant contributions to the field, evidenced by publications in prestigious conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, or similar.
