Position Overview

We are seeking an Animation Technical Specialist to become a vital member of the Technical Animation division, contributing to the development of the Assassin's Creed Shadows project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the animation department to establish, develop, and uphold animation workflows.
  • Implement, design, and modify state machines and blend trees (blueprints).
  • Offer technical assistance to the tools, engine, and animation teams.
  • Engage and cooperate with various teams (Art, Design, Code) to achieve objectives aligned with production timelines and development requirements.
  • Take initiative in recognizing challenges and devising effective solutions.
  • Document technical processes and share knowledge as necessary.
  • Work with other departments to enhance animation systems, ensuring optimal animations while adhering to technical limitations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a technical background with a keen interest in the artistic side of animation.
  • Experience with State Machines/Blueprints or comparable Animation systems (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary).
  • Strong technical proficiency in major 3D software; familiarity with MotionBuilder is advantageous.
  • Capability to produce technical documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, approachability, and a positive attitude in the workplace.
  • Understanding of geometric and numerical algorithms.
  • Proficient in Python and C# (ability to read and comprehend source code).
  • A genuine enthusiasm for video game development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of C++.
  • Experience in creating custom tools and scripts to enhance productivity and efficiency for the animation team.
