Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cell and Media Development Specialist to join our Cell Biology Team. This role involves leading media development projects, analyzing complex data sets, and developing cell culture media formulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology, bioengineering, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and expand mammalian cell cultures, including cryopreservation and optimization
  • Design, execute, and analyze cultivation experiments to understand mass balances and metabolic shifts
  • Develop innovative cell manipulations with a product development mindset
  • Analyze and present data to a multidisciplinary research team, providing recommendations and ideas for future research
  • Conduct literature searches to optimize scientific approaches
  • Mentor junior team members in designing and executing experiments
Requirements
  • PhD in Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques and establishment of cell lines
  • Strong background in cell biology topics, including cell cycle, proliferation, differentiation, and cellular adhesion
  • Experience with DoE and other engineering-type experimental design strategies
  • Proficient in sterile aseptic handling of mammalian cells
  • Growth mindset, curiosity, and ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and deliver against timelines and competing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Bonus

Ideal candidates will have experience in high-throughput screening, lab automation, 2D and 3D culture, microcarriers, cell bioreactors, CRISPR/Cas9, project management tools, and ELN software.
