Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team at INRIA and work on a project focused on designing adaptive embedded hardware architectures for AI. The PhD will investigate incremental learning of foundation models on embedded systems, with a focus on resource efficiency, privacy, and low energy consumption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive studies and experiments to investigate the feasibility of incremental learning of foundation models on embedded systems.
  • Explore state-of-the-art methods for incremental learning and adapt them to suit the constraints and requirements of embedded systems.
  • Develop and propose new methodologies specifically designed to enable foundation models to learn incrementally when deployed on embedded systems.

Requirements

  • Master degree in computer science, AI, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong background in computer science and mathematics.
  • Scientific attitude and ability to reason through problems.
  • Excellent programming skills.
  • Ability to communicate written and orally in English in a clear and precise manner.
  • Pro-active and independent attitude as well as ability to function well in a team environment.
