Job Description:

A vacancy has arisen for a Function & System Design Responsible in Tactical Mission Management System & Datalink at Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.

You will join a team of engineers in the "Situational Awareness and Mission Management" department responsible for terrain/weather/threats/traffic awareness functions, vision enhancement and targeting systems, data-links as well as mission management systems for all (e-)VTOLs.

Your mission will consist of system engineering activities and helicopter level integration of mission management systems interfaced with many contributor systems for civil and military helicopters.

Your Challenges:

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Definition and implementation of operational concepts and use cases for Tactical Mission Management Systems & Datalinks.
  • Technical responsible for Tactical Mission Management Systems & Datalinks.
  • Requirements engineering.
  • Ensure planning at equipment and helicopter level for development and qualification.
  • Assess suppliers' offers with other stakeholders.
  • Interface with project management, purchasing, sales department and other project stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Interface with / management of suppliers and customers.
  • Manage suppliers during development phase.
  • Support rig, ground and flight testing of the equipment.
  • Ensure the qualification / certification of equipment and the according functions.
  • Apply of agile development methodology.
  • Participate in offer management and contributing to product sourcing policy.
  • Benchmark our solutions with state of the art Tactical Mission Management Systems & Datalinks.
  • Actively contribute to definition and execution of research and technology (R&T) activities and mission systems product strategy.
  • Supporting knowledge exchange within Airbus (all divisions).


Your Profile:

You have the following skills and experience:

  • Academic studies in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
  • Comprehensive experience in the design, development, engineering and/or integration of mission management systems for aircraft.
  • Knowledge in systems engineering, requirements engineering and integration in the field of avionics.
  • Knowledge or previous experience of Tactical Mission Management Systems & Datalinks would be an advantage.
  • A previous experience with agile methodology (Scrum, SAFe) would be beneficial.
  • Experience in Supplier Management.
  • Team Spirit, good communication skills and experience in stakeholder management.
  • Language skills: English business fluent / negotiation level, knowledge of German, French or Spanish would be an advantage.
