Functional and System Design Specialist for Tactical Mission Management Systems

Job Description:

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled Functional and System Design Specialist to join our team at Airbus Helicopters in Marignane. As a key member of our "Situational Awareness and Mission Management" department, you will be responsible for designing and developing tactical mission management systems and datalinks for our cutting-edge aircraft.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Defining and implementing operational concepts and use cases for tactical mission management systems and datalinks
  • Technical leadership for tactical mission management systems and datalinks
  • Requirements engineering and system integration
  • Ensuring planning and coordination at equipment and helicopter level for development and qualification
  • Assessing suppliers' offers and collaborating with stakeholders
  • Interface management with project management, purchasing, sales department, and other project stakeholders
  • Managing suppliers during development phase and supporting testing and qualification
  • Applying agile development methodologies and contributing to product sourcing policy
  • Benchmarking our solutions with state-of-the-art tactical mission management systems and datalinks
  • Actively contributing to research and technology activities and mission systems product strategy

Your Profile:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in systems engineering, requirements engineering, and integration in the field of avionics. Your qualifications should include:
  • Academic studies in physics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
  • Comprehensive experience in designing, developing, engineering, and integrating mission management systems for aircraft
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, requirements engineering, and integration in the field of avionics
  • Previous experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and supplier management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Language skills: English business fluent/negotiation level, knowledge of German, French, or Spanish an advantage
