EU Sustainability Director
Eton Clarke is seeking an experienced EU Sustainability Director to join their Paris team and play a critical role in aligning the bank's sustainability strategy with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This position will lead the Double Materiality Assessment (DMA), ensuring the bank complies with regulatory requirements while driving key sustainability initiatives across the EU region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Double Materiality Assessment in alignment with CSRD regulations.
- Collaborate closely with departments across the EU and EMEA, including Risk, Compliance, Finance & Control, and Marketing.
- Support the Head of Sustainability Strategy for EU in evolving and implementing the bank's sustainability strategy.
- Work alongside external consultants initially, with a focus on building internal expertise.
- Drive engagement with both external and internal audits, and assist with preparing DMA-related disclosure content.
- Coordinate with senior management, including the Executive and Supervisory Boards, to gain approval for sustainability initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong experience in financial services, markets, and banking, with a deep understanding of CSRD and EU sustainability regulations.
- ESG expertise and prior experience in leading or advising on sustainability assessments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and collaborate across departments.
- Consulting background (preferred), with experience working on sustainability or regulatory topics in financial services.
- Fluency in English, with additional European language skills being an advantage.
