Role Overview:

The Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) team, consisting of 30 quantitative analysts, plays a pivotal role in delivering advanced quantitative insights across all GEMS Business Platforms. As a member of the Gas & Oil quant team, you will focus exclusively on the Gas Supply & Trading (GST) Business Platform.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing quantitative tools that significantly impact trading operations, including prototypes for position analysis and market monitoring.
  • Enhancing stochastic models and integrating them into the official library.
  • Collaborating with traders to provide efficient technical solutions tailored to their needs.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Engaging directly with traders to understand their requirements and provide quantitative support.
  • Collaborating with fellow quantitative analysts to share insights and innovative ideas.
  • Contributing to the official pricing library development using C#.
  • Creating customized pricing tools and prototypes for front office use.
  • Ensuring high code quality by adhering to established standards.
  • Working closely with other teams within GEMS to enhance methodologies.

Required Skills:

  • Strong mathematical acumen and expertise in Quantitative Finance.
  • Solid understanding of trading and portfolio management principles.
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming (C#, Python) for autonomous development of prototypes and models.

Preferred Soft Skills:

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for explaining complex concepts.
  • Proven ability to deliver practical solutions.
  • Strong commitment, motivation, and adaptability.

Educational Background:

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Financial Engineering.
  • Experience in Commodity Markets is a plus.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (C#, Python) and tools like Visual Studio and GIT.
