Expertise Center Quantitative Research and Modeling

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of 30 quantitative analysts. Its mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS. The quantitative analyst would be part of the "Gas & Oil" quant team, dedicated to Gas Supply & Trading (GST) Business Platform.

Role: Quantitative Analyst

The Quantitative Analyst will be focused on the activities of Gas Supply and Trading desks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining models for financial and physical trading, portfolio management, and risk assessment activities.
  • Theoretical development of pricing formulas for derivatives traded.
  • Implementation of pricing and risk management engines into an official pricing library.
  • Analysis of portfolios, performing stress tests, and relevant risk analysis.
  • Collaboration with traders to understand business needs and provide quantitative support.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Engineering or university degree in Computer Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Financial Engineering.
  • Strong mathematical skills and expertise in Quantitative Finance.
  • Proficient object-oriented programming skills in C# or Python.
  • Practical and conceptual thinking, ability to explain complex issues, and deliver concrete solutions.
