IRISA-CNRS in Rennes is seeking a PhD researcher to advance the state-of-the-art in multi-drone transportation of cable-suspended loads. The goal of this PhD thesis is to develop robust and agile transportation systems capable of handling complex tasks in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop perception and localization algorithms for multi-drone systems using onboard cameras and visual markers.
- Design and implement robust and online motion generation techniques using Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) to meet constraints and optimize for factors like task error, energy consumption, and completion time.
- Investigate human-multi-drone interaction techniques to enable intuitive high-level commands and shared control between the human operator and the multi-drone system.
- Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in robotics, computer vision, and control systems.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Subsidized meals.
- Partial reimbursement of public transport costs.
- Possibility of teleworking (90 days per year) and flexible organization of working hours.
- Partial payment of insurance costs.
Monthly gross salary amounting to 2082 euros for the first and second years and 2190 euros for the third year.
