CIMMYT is a leading international organization dedicated to solving global challenges through applied agricultural science. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Fundraising and Donor Relations Specialist to join our Resource Mobilization Team.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to DFS annual planning activities, implementation, and review.
- Support Program Directors, Program Managers, and senior scientists in their fundraising endeavors.
- Assist Programs in their fundraising efforts by attending meetings, advising on best practices, and providing editorial support.
- Participate in the design and management of annual fundraising plans.
- Contribute to the provision of fundraising services and tools to designated Programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues in DFS and other departments.
- Develop material for Resource Mobilization Management Committee meetings.
- Interact with Communications colleagues in the creation of donor-facing products.
- Deliver professional stewardship to current and lapsed donors.
- Maintain and input relevant records into DFS databases.
- Master's degree in communication, International Development, Business Administration, or similar field.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Experience in a multi-project work environment for more than 5 years, part of that in an international context.
- Documented experience in donor intelligence and fundraising.
- Ability to build strong relationships with CIMMYT counterparts.
- Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
- Actively works towards continuing personal learning and development.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Desire and ability to work collaboratively, respectfully, and inclusively in a diverse, multicultural, multidisciplinary work environment.
The position is for an initial fixed term of three (3) years, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. CIMMYT's internationally competitive salary and benefits include housing allowance, car, comprehensive health and life insurance, assistance for children's education, paid vacation, annual home travel airfare, contribution to a retirement plan, and generous assistance with relocation shipment.
