Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at Scaleway, you will play a key role in shaping our cloud infrastructure. You will lead a team of engineers, overseeing their work, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to excel. Your primary responsibility will be to create the conditions for engineering teams to focus on building a cloud that makes sense.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of up to ten engineers, focusing on their career growth, skills improvement, and workload balance.
  • Build innovative features for our products using the latest technologies, collaborating with your team.
  • Coordinate team efforts, monitor project progress, and organize work through rituals.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Marketing teams to ensure the team's objectives align with company goals.
  • Facilitate communication between teams, ensuring the team's voice is heard and their needs are met.
  • Monitor and optimize team velocity and capacity to deliver quality products and services on time.
  • Work closely with the local Architect to deploy internal stacks and ensure global engineering initiatives are used within the product process and stack.
  • Stay grounded by coding with your team and contributing to transversal initiatives within the Engineering Manager Guild.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in managing engineering teams and overseeing technical projects.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Python, GoLang, and cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of databases, container technologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Agile methods and Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
