The Tech & Data division, comprising approximately 200 professionals globally, is dedicated to delivering products, services, and support to the entire SCOR Group. Currently, it faces two primary challenges: the effective implementation of its new Target Operating Model (TOM) and the execution of an ambitious multi-year internalization strategy aimed at providing innovative solutions to its clientele.

The Tech & Data structure operates as an Agile matrix organization, built upon four foundational pillars:

  • Data and System Engineering: This includes teams such as the Data Center of Excellence, Products and Systems Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture.
  • Management & Control (M&C) & Corporate Systems: Teams in this area support various Crews and Transversal Functional Domains, including Governance, T&D Operating Model Implementation, Security & Compliance, Financial Control, Sourcing & Vendor Management, and Processes.
  • Technical: This pillar consists of teams focused on IT Operations, Network, Cloud, and Workplace & Cloud Productivity Services.
  • Crews and Transversal Functional Domains: These groups work collaboratively across the organization.

Support for Crews: Crews are bolstered by Chapters (including System Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, etc.), with both Technical and M&C-C teams dedicated to delivering SCOR's products, services, and support.

We are in search of a talented and innovative Solution Architect to take a leading role in our Tech & Data architecture chapter. In this pivotal position, you will spearhead the design and implementation of advanced technology solutions that cater to our organization's changing requirements. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our technological framework. If you excel in innovation and problem-solving, this role aligns perfectly with your skills.

Reporting to the Head of Software Engineering, the Solution Architect's primary responsibilities include:

User-Centric Solution Design: Collaborate with users, business stakeholders, and technical teams to comprehend our organization's needs and objectives. Develop comprehensive and scalable technology solutions that fulfill these requirements.

Architectural Expertise:

  • Provide guidance to senior management on critical initiatives and assist in steering essential architectural decisions and strategies.
  • Articulate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of the benefits and implications of architectural choices.
  • Address inter-program and inter-project challenges.

Technical Leadership:

  • Offer technical leadership and direction to development teams throughout the solution development lifecycle, ensuring that the architecture is executed as intended.
  • Supervise the integration of various system components, applications, and data sources, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the performance, security, and scalability of the solution, addressing any performance bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their potential to improve our solutions and recommending their adoption.

Build & Maintain Architecture Assets:

  • Define and uphold architecture patterns, strategies, accelerators, and best practices in collaboration with the architecture team, applying them to various initiatives and architectural challenges.
  • Create and maintain documentation at various levels of detail, including diagrams, technical user stories, and architectural decisions as necessary.

Architecture Chapter & Software Engineering Advocate:

  • Engage in the organization and facilitation of architecture chapter ceremonies (architecture committees, round tables, crew catch-up sessions, etc.).
  • Promote the activities of the architecture team throughout the organization.
  • Develop a network of contacts within crews, squads, and stakeholders to keep the chapter informed and connected with various initiatives, challenges, and projects, providing assistance as needed.

Required Experience & Competencies:

  • Over 10 years of experience in solution implementation and/or architecture roles (e.g., software engineer, solution or enterprise architect, technical lead, solution designer, etc.).
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn in a dynamic technology environment.
  • Proven track record in the design, architecture, and/or implementation of complex IT systems, gained within consultancy, systems integration, financial services, or similar organizations, through diverse systems delivery programs and projects.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to present complex situations clearly.
  • Ability to navigate a matrixed and international environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capacity to influence at a senior level.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of modern software architecture, development, and methodologies, with the ability to design comprehensive solutions/systems optimized for specific criteria.
  • Experience implementing various coding languages, frameworks, and technology stacks, with a focus on cloud-based solutions on at least one of Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess business, risk, and financial impacts of architectural decisions.
  • Advanced understanding of architectural principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Required Education:

A degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
