Job Summary:
The Capital Project Manager (Manager III, Administrative Leadership) is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic infrastructure projects across the KCTCS system. This role requires a high level of expertise in project management, architecture, engineering, and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage professional architectural or engineering services for capital construction or facilities maintenance projects.
- Provide project management expertise to the Office of Facilities Support Services, colleges, and governmental agencies.
- Develop and maintain documentation of project records, including final archival documents.
- Organize and conduct meetings with college representatives, professional consultants, and technical construction contractors.
- Prepare and review project budgets and schedules for capital projects.
- Supervise and monitor Capital Project Specialists as they accomplish the design and construction of capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with KCTCS procedures and policies in all aspects of capital projects and facilities support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or Landscape Architecture.
- Four years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- Licensed as a professional architect or engineer by the state licensing board.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Eight years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Additional Skills:
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.
