Job Responsibilities

SPIE GLOBAL SERVICES ENERGY is seeking qualified Senior Mechanical Technicians to fulfill essential roles within our organization.

  • Organizes and executes maintenance tasks on-site, supporting specialists under Specific Maintenance Contracts (SMC).
  • Ensures compliance with COMPANY's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, particularly regarding Work Permits and standard operating procedures during maintenance activities.
  • Guarantees that all maintenance and repairs to equipment and facilities are conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to company protocols and relevant legal requirements.
  • Manages intervention documentation through the Computerized Maintenance Management Information System (CMIMS).
  • Inputs intervention reports into the CMIMS and prepares technical documentation pertinent to his area of expertise.
  • Monitors the performance of systems under his supervision.
  • Facilitates knowledge transfer through mentoring within his team and actively engages in this process.
  • Directly oversees the team of technicians assigned to him.
  • Responds to any intervention requests within his area of expertise as needed.
  • Takes responsibility for the systems under his care during breakdowns until normal operations are restored.

Candidate Profile

Possesses a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent (A-levels + 3 years' study), with 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance within oil and gas production environments.

Must have foundational knowledge of oil and gas processing and a comprehensive understanding of the equipment utilized.

Demonstrates proven leadership capabilities in managing small teams.

Must be self-sufficient and competent in his field, exhibiting sound judgment and organizational skills. Natural authority, built on competence and trust from team members, is crucial.

Theoretical Knowledge Requirements

  • Petroleum: Basic understanding of facilities/processes from well to export, including knowledge of hydrocarbon behavior and associated risks.
  • Physics: Familiarity with fundamental physical laws and units, and understanding of material characteristics.
  • Engineering: Ability to interpret and utilize technical drawings and vendor documentation.
  • Equipment: Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and maintenance, including lubrication requirements.
  • Awareness of condition-based monitoring (CBM) practices.

Maintenance Skills

Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance principles, with basic knowledge of CMMS functionalities.

Practical Skills

  • Proficient in selecting and using mechanical hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Capable of operating and maintaining workshop equipment.
  • Trained in basic lifting operations and maintenance protocols.
