Role Summary

As a Senior Electrical Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems that are vital for the safe and efficient functioning of operations. This position demands a high degree of technical knowledge in electrical systems, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to perform effectively in a demanding offshore setting.

Key Responsibilities

Execute regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems, including power distribution, switchgear, motors, generators, transformers, and control systems. Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments on electrical equipment to swiftly identify and rectify issues, minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency. Collaborate with various departments such as instrumentation, mechanical, and operations to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to guarantee equipment reliability and adherence to regulatory standards. Engage in the planning and execution of upgrades, modifications, and installations of electrical systems. Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels for electrical spare parts and components. Provide technical mentorship and support to junior technicians, assisting in their training and professional growth. Monitor electrical parameters and alarms, taking corrective actions as necessary to uphold safe and efficient operations. Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures to foster a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Collaborate with vendors and contractors as required for specialized repairs, procurement of spare parts, and technical assistance. Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements pertinent to electrical systems in offshore environments. Actively participate in emergency response drills and procedures to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in the offshore oil and gas sector, with specific experience on FPSOs being advantageous. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, protective relays, and relevant electrical codes and standards. Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings. Practical experience with electrical testing and diagnostic tools, along with maintenance equipment. Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards and safety protocols (e.g., API, ISO, HSE). Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team. Physical fitness and readiness to work in challenging offshore conditions for extended durations. A strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
