Installation Specialist in Semiconductor Manufacturing

Job Title: Installation Engineer in Semiconductor Industry European regions

Applied Materials, a leading provider of innovative semiconductor, display, and solar-photovoltaic processing equipment, is seeking a skilled Installation Engineer to support European regions. As a key member of our Iteam department, you will be responsible for the installation of semiconductor tools across Europe, ensuring maximum productivity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform tool installation tasks, including mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and robot calibrations, from integration to inspection.
  • Follow checklists and procedures, ensuring correct documentation and schematics are available prior to performing work.
  • Test equipment with assistance from senior engineers, using existing documentation and diagnostic techniques.
  • Respond to fab issues by communicating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce installation cycle time and costs.
  • Provide accurate reporting of status, hours worked, and non-conformances.
  • Adhere to security policy and quality standards of Applied Materials and its customers.
Requirements:
  • Associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree with a technical background in mechanical assembly, equipment installation, maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, electrical, mechanical, or similar.
  • Position open to New College Graduate (NCG).
  • Some experience or knowledge with Applied Materials CVD/CMP/EPI tools would be an advantage but not required.
  • Troubleshooting skills to solve mechanical and electrical issues during system installation.
  • Ability to communicate daily pass-downs and equipment status reports.
  • Project management skills to control installation project within budget, timeline, and installation quality requirements.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • The position requires extensive traveling throughout Europe (75% of the time, depending on overall activity requirements).
