We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Atomic Tomography Specialist to join our team of researchers at CEA, a leading public research organization dedicated to tackling major challenges in energy, climate change, technology, and defense.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing innovative materials for next-generation nuclear reactors. Your expertise in atomic tomography and microstructural analysis will be instrumental in characterizing the performance and behavior of critical materials under demanding conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive microstructural examinations on a diverse range of materials used in current and future nuclear reactor designs.
- Prepare samples meticulously and execute experiments utilizing Atomic Tomography (SAT) and other advanced probing techniques.
- Analyze the microstructure of stainless steels, nickel alloys, and fuel cladding materials both before and after irradiation.
- Characterize specialized materials such as zirconium alloy cladding with chrome coatings, providing in-depth insights into their properties and behavior.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Materials Science and Engineering is essential for this role.
- Demonstrated experience of 3-5 years in conducting analysis using Atomic Tomography probes is required.
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as IVAS is highly desirable.
- Expertise in SEM/FIB and SAT tools is a must.
- Fluency in English is essential for effective communication within our international team.
