Job Overview:

The chosen candidate will engage in collaborative efforts with engineering teams and other departments on matters related to innovation and patenting within Arabelle Solutions' nuclear sector. Key responsibilities encompass the management of a comprehensive patent portfolio, drafting and filing patent applications across Europe, and supervising patent-related procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the process of idea generation and conducting patentability assessments
  • Managing opposition and enforcement activities, including legal hearings
  • Performing patent prior art investigations and freedom-to-operate evaluations
  • Leading a network of intellectual property legal professionals
  • Monitoring budgetary aspects and cost management
  • Assisting in mergers and acquisitions by identifying relevant patent portfolios

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Expertise in European patent law with a background in other European patent offices
  • Technical proficiency in electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally within the rotary equipment sector
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in patent law
  • Experience in overseeing external patent attorneys on a global scale
  • Exceptional communication abilities
  • Capability to devise innovative intellectual property strategies
  • Knowledge of patent regulations in Europe, the US, and Asia
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional teamwork
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French is advantageous

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical background in the energy industry
  • Familiarity with the ANAQUA patent management software
  • Registered European Patent Attorney status
  • Robust problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize tasks
