Job Summary

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is actively seeking a Safety Operations Manager to enhance its team in Nigeria.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring effective execution of the Company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Policies, along with adherence to DGEP HSE regulations and contractors' compliance with HSE stipulations outlined in relevant contracts within the Techlog Division across all operational sites.
  • Conducting thorough investigations and analyses of incidents and accidents, preparing detailed cause tree analyses, and compiling comprehensive reports.
  • Monitoring corrective actions to guarantee their completion and compliance, while fostering a culture of safety and responsibility among Company logistics and contractor personnel.
  • Evaluating logistics contractors' HSE Management Systems, identifying areas for improvement in alignment with the Company's HSE Management System, and preparing, issuing, and updating necessary bridging documents. Regular audits of contractors' facilities (bases, heliports, ships) will be conducted in collaboration with Aviation and Marine specialists.
  • Maintaining and updating the Extended Personnel on Board (EPOB) files.
  • Organizing training sessions for the Company's Technical Logistics personnel.
  • Keeping accurate HSE records, statistics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure precise reporting, including the documentation of all incidents, accidents, and safety observations using the Company's systems and databases (e.g., Synergi, Enablon). Ensuring that the contractor's anomaly reporting system is operational on-site and that reports are analyzed for trends and necessary follow-up actions.
  • Preparing monthly departmental HSE reports and any additional reports as requested by management.
  • Supporting all Company Safety Initiatives and coordinating HSE campaigns for logistics contractors.
  • Organizing and leading special HSE events, such as departmental HSE committees and HSE Forums.
  • Assisting with HQ audits as needed, providing necessary information, and organizing HSE reviews for the LSO department.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an HSE or Engineering discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, Company Policies, and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in an HSE role.
