About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, install, and maintain the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Problem Solving
    Identify and resolve technical issues on various platforms, including systems, networking, and power/mechanical systems.
  • Technical
    Troubleshoot and remediate physical layer outages, both systems and network.
  • Operations
    Work on shift rotations to meet 24x7 on-call requirements, install and configure racks of hosts, and triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
  • Project Management
    Participate in and deliver on high-impact small to mid-scale projects, collaborating with teams to achieve project goals.
  • Mentoring
    Share knowledge and educate less technical staff on best practices related to service owner issues.
  • Hiring
    Contribute to building a great team by participating in the Amazon hiring process and candidate interviews.
Requirements
  • Server hardware troubleshooting experience, including server booting, network protocols, and network hardware.
  • Good understanding of Linux/Unix administration.
  • Experience with remote access, network equipment installation and configuration, and redundancy.
  • Scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby.
