The Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer at Flowie, you will be instrumental in designing and constructing robust backend systems primarily utilizing Scala. Your expertise will guarantee that our platform consistently delivers outstanding performance and reliability for all users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the design and development of backend services using Scala within a microservices architecture, integrating technologies such as Apache Pulsar and Postgres.
- Ensure effective data management and seamless integration with frontend systems and external services.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to develop efficient APIs and enhance the performance of backend-to-frontend interactions.
- Advocate for best practices in backend development, encompassing code quality, security, testing, and performance optimization.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work closely with product and design teams to deliver intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
- Stay informed about the latest backend technologies and trends to maintain our platform's cutting-edge status.
Requirements:
- A minimum of six years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer, with a proven history of building scalable and high-performance systems.
- Proficiency in any major backend programming language, with a willingness to learn Scala. Experience with JVM or functional programming languages is advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and server-side technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
