Senior Legal Counsel - Expertise in US and French Corporate Law
Valneva SE is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to deliver extensive legal guidance and support, with a focus on corporate governance, compliance, and strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of both US and French public company regulations, particularly in capital markets and compliance matters. Collaborating closely with the General Counsel and senior leadership, the Senior Legal Counsel will be instrumental in developing legal strategies and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Oversee annual reporting obligations, including the formulation of the annual report
- Assist in various public disclosure activities, such as quarterly updates and presentations to analysts
- Provide legal advice on financing transactions and key corporate initiatives
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards within the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors in both the US and EU
- Support the growth and effectiveness of the Legal department within the organization
- Manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required based on the candidate's expertise and team needs
Qualifications:
Licensed attorney in the US or France; dual qualification is preferred
Experience:
A minimum of ten years of post-qualification experience with a robust background in corporate law
Industry Experience:
Experience with public companies in both France and the US
Capital Markets:
Preferred experience in equity and debt financing transactions
Additional Knowledge:
Familiarity with the regulatory landscape of the biotech/pharma industry, as well as knowledge of ESG and data protection/privacy regulations is advantageous
