Paris, Île-de-France Alice & Bob Temps plein

Alice&Bob is at the forefront of developing a groundbreaking universal quantum computer designed to tackle some of the most challenging problems in the world. Our innovative approach is centered around a novel type of superconducting qubit known as the Schrödinger cat qubit. Unlike other superconducting technologies, cat qubits possess the remarkable capability to autonomously implement quantum error correction.

As we rapidly expand, having secured significant funding to advance our unique technology, we are building a diverse team of over 100 professionals, including physicists, PhDs, engineers, and experienced business experts, all dedicated to achieving our ambitious vision. If you are an innovator eager to push the boundaries of quantum computing, we invite you to explore this opportunity.

The role of Principal Research Scientist - Quantum Error Correction is crucial within our organization. You will spearhead the design and development of our fault-tolerant architecture, directly influencing the hardware roadmap of Alice&Bob. Your expertise will bridge the gap between theoretical quantum error correction methodologies and their practical applications, significantly shaping the future of our technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the research and development of a fault-tolerant quantum computing architecture utilizing cat qubits, including design and development across various levels such as bosonic codes and concatenated codes, encompassing both quantum and classical components.
  • Create fault-tolerant implementations for a comprehensive set of gates tailored to this architecture.
  • Evaluate the performance of the architecture using realistic error models developed in collaboration with the Hardware Design & Analysis team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Algorithms & Applications team to perform resource estimations for targeted applications.
  • Lead the design of application-specific architectures, customizing quantum computing solutions to address particular use-case needs.
Qualifications
  • Education: PhD in Quantum Error Correction (QEC)
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in research within the field or equivalent experience, a proven track record of publishing academic papers as a lead author, and participation in top-tier conferences related to QEC.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures, managerial experience, capability to develop product and technical roadmaps, and excellent communication skills.
Benefits
  • 25-day vacation policy in accordance with French law, plus RTT.
  • Partial coverage of transportation costs as per French regulations, or an annual allowance for avid cyclists.
  • Competitive health benefits provided through Alan.
  • Meal vouchers via Swile, along with access to a fully equipped kitchen.
  • Parental benefits, including crèche support.
  • Flexible remote work policy, allowing up to 25% remote work per month.

We recognize that women may feel hesitant to apply if they do not meet every requirement listed. This list serves as a guideline, and we encourage applications from individuals who may not meet all criteria. Our goal is to build teams that foster innovation rather than merely fulfilling a checklist.

By joining one of the most innovative startups in France at this early stage, you will become part of a passionate and collaborative team dedicated to realizing the first universal quantum computer.

We value sharing knowledge and learning from one another, ensuring that you will have the opportunity to innovate, develop new ideas, and grow within our dynamic environment.
