Alice&Bob is pioneering the development of a universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer aimed at addressing some of the most challenging problems in the world. Our vision revolves around an innovative superconducting qubit known as the Schrödinger cat qubit, which offers remarkable capabilities for autonomous quantum error correction compared to other superconducting technologies.

In the role of Research Scientist - Classical Error Correction, you will enhance the design of our fault-tolerant architecture. Collaborating closely with both the theoretical and experimental teams, your contributions will focus on developing advanced fault-tolerant strategies tailored to the bosonic processors we are creating.

Your efforts will be integral to the innovation cycle at Alice&Bob, as the architectures you propose will serve as the foundation for hardware design, implementation, and characterization. This position allows you to make a direct and strategic impact on our hardware roadmap, witnessing your theoretical contributions materialize into experimental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance the design of Alice&Bob's fault-tolerant architecture, including improvements to quantum error correction schemes and logical gate designs.
  • Develop internal tools for performance analysis of the architecture.
  • Contribute to the hybrid classical-quantum computing architecture for a fault-tolerant quantum computer, including decoding algorithms.
  • Collaborate with the Hardware design and analysis team to evaluate the performance of proposed architectures using realistic hardware and noise models.
Qualifications:
  • Education: PhD in Classical Error Correction or a related discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of research experience in the field or equivalent, with a track record of publishing academic papers as a lead author and participating in leading conferences.
  • Skills: Proficiency in classical error correcting codes; knowledge of quantum error correction is advantageous.
