Analyst/Senior Analyst – Structured Finance & Covered Bonds
Overview:
The Structured Finance and Covered Bonds division is in search of an Analyst/Senior Analyst to be based in our Paris office.
Fitch's European Structured Finance (SF) & Covered Bonds (CVB) department is responsible for maintaining existing ratings and assigning ratings to new SF transactions and CVB programmes. The department currently oversees Structured Finance transactions across four primary asset classes: Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities, and Structured Credit. Fitch Ratings monitors over 1,500 European structured finance transactions and more than 100 programmes from over 20 countries, representing approximately 900 billion euros in bonds.
The team operates from various locations, with a primary focus on the analysis of SF & CVB in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Conduct credit risk analysis on new transactions by modeling asset and liability cash flows in rating scenarios, ensuring consistency while evaluating cases on their individual merits. Produce clear and concise commentaries and reports to publish our rating actions and credit rationale. Review relevant transaction documents and associated legal opinions. Perform qualitative assessments of operational risks through calls or on-site evaluations at issuing financial institutions. Monitor a portfolio of structured finance transactions and covered bonds programmes, including preparing and presenting rating committee documentation. Write and publish comprehensive rating reports and research papers within your area of expertise. Participate in committees focused on covered bonds and structured finance in other jurisdictions. Maintain effective communication channels with debt arrangers to manage inquiries, clarify project statuses, and discuss analytical questions or feedback in a timely and professional manner.Qualifications:
Previous experience in credit risk analysis within the banking sector, preferably in the securitization and/or covered bond market. Strong numerical and computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Excel and modeling applications. Fluency in French is required, along with the ability to articulate complex ideas verbally and in clear written business English. A Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or Statistical Sciences.Preferred Attributes:
