Amazon is looking for a skilled Content Strategist in France to lead the editorial direction for the About Amazon platform in the region. This is a pivotal role within the Owned Content & Channels team, which strives to be the foremost and most reliable source of information regarding Amazon for external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:The selected candidate will be tasked with crafting, refining, and presenting original narratives about the organization, encompassing both timely news and enduring content.
This role necessitates close collaboration with members of the French communications team and various departments across the organization to effectively frame and enhance Amazon news narratives.
The position will be based in Amazon's Paris office.
Ideal Candidate Profile:The ideal applicant is a seasoned journalist or storyteller, possessing strong news acumen and exceptional writing abilities, dedicated to producing stories that resonate with Amazon's audiences.
Responsibilities include brainstorming with multiple teams, assigning, generating, and refining original narratives about Amazon across diverse topics, leveraging a combination of audience insights and inherent story judgment.
The candidate should have a background in data-driven digital journalism and a comprehensive understanding of utilizing SEO to inform editorial strategies.
Excellent communication skills are essential, with a preference for candidates who have experience managing freelance writers.
Daily Responsibilities:Strategic Development:
Formulate and execute the editorial strategy for owned channels in France, aligning with broader global objectives while adapting to regional needs. The strategy should be grounded in high-quality editorial content driven by data and SEO.
Content Oversight:
Manage editorial content and campaigns linked to significant storytelling and news events, collaborating with various communications teams. A solid grasp of SEO and data analytics is crucial for editorial success.
Performance Measurement:
Establish content objectives and implement comprehensive measurement frameworks to assess program effectiveness. A robust understanding of data metrics (including organic traffic, SEO performance, recirculation rates, etc.) is required to make timely adjustments based on outcomes.
Innovation and Scaling:
Experiment with various story formats and topics, develop best practices, and create toolkits to enhance the consistency and efficiency of our global initiatives.
- 7-8 years of experience in digital content, including 2-3 years in journalism.
- Strong knowledge of data analytics and SEO, and how to leverage these to drive editorial content.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, digital media, or a related field.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution of digital content campaigns aligned with measurable business and communication objectives.
- Experience utilizing data and insights to shape content strategy and planning, with proficiency in web analytics and SEO.
- Background in developing, editing, and planning web and/or digital content, including familiarity with CMS tools.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment under tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset—enjoys taking initiative and driving results.
- Knowledgeable about digital communication trends and capable of applying these insights to their work.
- Thrives in a collaborative setting and is willing to engage actively to achieve goals.
