Position Overview:

Amazon is looking for a skilled Content Strategist in France to manage the editorial content direction for the About Amazon platform in the region. This role is part of the Owned Content & Channels team, which strives to be the premier and most reliable source of information and updates about Amazon for external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be tasked with crafting, refining, and presenting original narratives about the organization, encompassing both current news and timeless content.

This position requires close collaboration with the French communications team and various departments within the company to effectively shape and enhance Amazon news narratives.

The role will be based in Amazon's Paris office.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal applicant is a seasoned journalist or storyteller, possessing strong news discernment and exceptional writing abilities, who will create compelling stories that resonate with Amazon's audiences.

Responsibilities include brainstorming with multiple teams, assigning, generating, and refining original narratives about Amazon across diverse subjects, leveraging a combination of audience insights and inherent story judgment.

Experience in data-informed digital journalism and a solid grasp of SEO principles to inform editorial content strategy is essential.

The candidate should excel in communication, ideally with experience managing freelance writers.

Daily Responsibilities:

Strategic Development:
Formulate and execute the editorial strategy for owned channel content in France, aligning with global objectives while allowing for regional customization. The strategy should focus on high-quality editorial content driven by data and SEO insights.

Content Oversight:
Manage editorial content and campaigns linked to significant storytelling and news events, collaborating with various communications teams. A robust understanding of SEO and data analytics is crucial for editorial effectiveness.

Performance Measurement:
Establish content objectives and implement comprehensive measurement frameworks to assess program effectiveness. A strong command of data (including organic traffic, SEO metrics, recirculation rates, etc.) is necessary for making real-time adjustments based on performance outcomes.

Innovation and Scaling:
Experiment with various story formats and topics, develop best practices, and create playbooks and toolkits to enhance the consistency and efficiency of our global initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 7-8 years of experience in digital content, including a minimum of 2-3 years in journalism.
  • Strong knowledge of data and SEO, and the ability to leverage these to drive editorial content.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, digital media, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both French and English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution of digital content campaigns aligned with measurable business, brand, or communication objectives.
  • Experience utilizing data and insights to shape content strategy and planning; proficient in web analytics and SEO.
  • Experience in developing, editing, and planning web and/or digital content, including familiarity with CMS tools.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset—enjoys taking initiative and driving results.
  • Knowledgeable about digital communications and storytelling trends, capable of applying these insights to their work.
  • Thrives in a collaborative setting and is willing to engage actively to achieve objectives.
