Position Overview:

Amazon is looking for a talented Content Strategist in France to lead the editorial content strategy for the About Amazon platform within the country. This is a pivotal role within the Owned Content & Channels team, dedicated to being the primary and most reliable source of information and updates about Amazon for external audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be tasked with crafting, refining, and presenting original narratives about the company, encompassing both current news and timeless content.

This role requires close collaboration with the French communications team and various departments to effectively frame and enhance Amazon news stories.

The position will be based in Amazon's Paris office.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned journalist or storyteller, possessing strong news judgment and exceptional writing capabilities, dedicated to creating engaging stories that resonate with Amazon's audiences.

Responsibilities include brainstorming with multiple teams, generating, assigning, and editing original narratives about Amazon across diverse topics, leveraging both audience insights and intrinsic story judgment.

Experience in data-driven digital journalism and a solid grasp of SEO principles to inform editorial content strategy is essential.

The candidate should be an outstanding communicator, ideally with experience managing freelance writers.

Daily Responsibilities:

Strategic Development:
Formulate and execute the owned channel content editorial strategy for France, aligning with global directives while adapting to regional needs. The strategy should be rooted in high-quality editorial content driven by data and SEO.

Content Oversight:
Manage editorial content and campaigns linked to significant storytelling and news events, collaborating with various communications teams. A robust understanding of SEO and data analytics is crucial for editorial success.

Performance Measurement:
Establish content objectives and implement comprehensive measurement frameworks to assess program effectiveness. A deep understanding of data metrics (including organic traffic, SEO, recirculation rates, etc.) is necessary for making real-time adjustments based on outcomes.

Innovation and Scaling:
Experiment with various story formats and topics, develop best practices, and create toolkits to enhance consistency and efficiency in our global initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 7-8 years of experience in digital content, including 2-3 years in journalism.
  • Strong knowledge of data and SEO, and how to leverage them to enhance editorial content.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, digital media, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both French and English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution of digital content campaigns aligned with measurable business and brand objectives.
  • Experience utilizing data and insights to shape content strategy and planning; proficient in web analytics and SEO.
  • Experience in developing, editing, and planning web and/or digital content, including familiarity with CMS tools.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset—enjoys taking initiative and driving results.
  • Knowledgeable about digital communications and storytelling trends, able to apply these insights effectively.
  • Thrives in a collaborative setting and is willing to contribute actively to achieve goals.
