Role Overview
Newrest Houston is actively seeking a Food Production Team Leader for the night shift (10pm-6:30am) with flexible scheduling.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven supervisory experience in a culinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of production staff in alignment with operational plans;
- Develop and maintain monthly theoretical production schedules;
- Adjust weekly and monthly plans as necessary based on theoretical guidelines;
- Ensure staff compliance with timesheet requirements;
- Enforce strict adherence to operational procedures and work instructions among all team members;
- Facilitate training and onboarding for new team members;
- Ensure timely coverage for absent colleagues across various production roles;
- Assess daily requirements for products, materials, and equipment;
- Quality and Safety Control:
- Monitor production timelines;
- Verify service compliance with datasheets, product specifications, and weight requirements;
- Check temperature controls in cold storage and production areas;
- Manage traceability documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping;
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager during audits and investigations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in catering or food production is advantageous;
- Ability to enforce and adhere to manufacturing standards;
- Commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards;
- Proficient in production, cleaning, and handling techniques;
- Willingness to work weekends as required by operational demands;
- Capacity to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment;
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred, but not mandatory; alternatively, six months to one year of relevant experience in a production setting.
- Strong communication skills; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not essential.
- Please note that this position involves a night shift, with the necessity for flexible scheduling, including availability for day shifts, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate. Flexibility regarding days off is also required.
