Position Overview:
Newrest Houston is actively seeking a Food Production Team Leader for the night shift (10pm-6:30am) with flexibility in scheduling.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a culinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of production staff in alignment with operational plans;
- Develop and maintain monthly production schedules;
- Adjust weekly and monthly plans as necessary based on operational needs;
- Ensure staff adherence to timesheet protocols;
- Implement and enforce strict adherence to operational procedures for all team members;
- Facilitate training and onboarding for new hires;
- Ensure timely replacement of absent team members in various production roles;
- Assess daily requirements for products, materials, and equipment;
- Quality Assurance and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Oversight:
- Monitor production timelines;
- Verify service compliance (data sheets/products/weights);
- Check temperatures in refrigeration units and production areas;
- Manage traceability documentation and ensure accurate completion;
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager, especially during audits or investigations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in catering or food production is advantageous;
- Ability to uphold and implement manufacturing standards;
- Commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards;
- Proficient in production, sanitation, and handling techniques;
- Willingness to work weekends as required by operational demands;
- Capacity to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced setting;
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred, or six months to one year of relevant experience in a production environment may be considered;
- Strong communication skills; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not mandatory;
- This position requires a night shift assignment, with flexibility in scheduling, including availability for day shifts, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs. Flexibility in days off is also necessary.
Competencies:
