About the Job

We are looking for a Head of Communications and Public Relations to join our team in France. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal communications plan to support and facilitate cultural change within Europcar France. They will also strengthen the employer brand to attract and retain top talent through strategic communication and collaboration with HR.

Main Objectives:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications plan to support and facilitate cultural change within Europcar France.
  2. Strengthen the employer brand to attract and retain top talent through strategic communication and collaboration with HR.
  3. Oversee press relations, build strong media connections, and manage corporate events and sponsorships to promote Europcar's public image and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Internal Communications: Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications plan in interaction with HR and various other functional departments. Coordinate communication efforts across departments to ensure consistent engaging content for internal newsletters and other communication platforms. Organize internal events and activities to foster employee engagement and a positive work culture. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communication strategies and adjust as needed.
  2. Employer Branding: Enhance Europcar France's employer brand to attract and retain top talent. Collaborate with HR to create compelling employer branding content for recruitment and onboarding social media channels to promote the company culture and career opportunities. Develop partnerships with educational institutions and industry organizations to build a talent pipeline.
  3. External Communications: Manage and execute external communication strategies to enhance the company's public image as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and press relations. Prepare interviews for speeches and organize media trainings to comex members. Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media and distribute press releases, manage media briefings, coordinate & prepare interviews. Monitor media coverage and provide regular reports to senior management.
  4. Events and Sponsorship: Plan, coordinate, and execute corporate events and sponsorships to promote the Europcar & Goldcar brands, for B2C and B2B audiences. Identify and manage opportunities for event participation and sponsorship that align with company objectives. Oversee the logistics of events, including vendor management, budget planning, and on-site coordination. Evaluate the success of events and sponsorship activities and provide recommendations for improvement to internal stakeholders and head of functions. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure events and sponsorships support broader business goals.

Qualifications:

PERSONAL PROFILE OF POSITION HOLDER:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal and external communications, preferably within a corporate environment.
  3. Proven experience in managing press relations and a strong network in the journalism industry.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
  5. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  6. Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  7. Clear communicator with the aptitude to gain trust and confidence.
  8. Able to work unsupervised and to successfully complete tasks within tight deadlines.
  9. Willingness to stay highly informed about the market and any potential changes.

COMPETENCES:

  1. Languages: Excellent written and oral communications skills in French & English (mandatory).
  2. Able to work in a complex international/local organisation.
  3. Experience in cultural change management and employer branding.
  4. Knowledge of the automotive or transportation industry.
  5. Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media management.
  6. Experience in planning and executing corporate events and managing sponsorships.
