Job Opportunity: Control and Instrumentation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at the EPURE facility in France. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering professional engineering services for the upkeep of all assets and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply technical knowledge for engineered systems and structures
  • Identify and escalate business risk where applicable to plant and engineered systems
  • Make evidence-based engineering decisions to solve technical problems
  • Bring C&I engineering skills to the team, which could potentially include one or more of the following: Electrical distribution, functional safety, PLCs, machinery safety, intrinsic safety, BMS, and specialist instrumentation
  • Providing hands-on support for UK Trials at EPURE
  • Contribute towards the development of Safe Systems of Work and Work instructions
  • Acquire and maintain the necessary competencies to perform this role
  • Develop awareness of team, function, and company processes and technical capabilities
  • Participate in collaborative working relationships as part of a team (internal/external)

Requirements:

  • An HNC/HND with additional experience
  • Proven ability to deliver engineering across similar manufacturing/research environments incorporating infrastructure facilities, plant, and equipment
  • Experience of delivering facilities engineering and maintenance services across the life of an asset
  • Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to France and live within 1 hour of the Valduc site and be permanently located in France for up to 5 years
  • The ability to communicate in the French Language is essential for this role

Please note:

When first appointed in the role you will be based in the UK initially for a period of 6-9 months before being deployed to France. Once deployed to France you will follow the site standard 5-day working week, and at the end of the assignment, you will be re-deployed back to AWE in the UK.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
