Position Overview

The Director of Biologics Business Development plays a pivotal role within one of the largest global medical technology firms. Reporting directly to the VP/GM, this position is integral to the Prefillable Syringes management team, overseeing the dynamic Biologics segment, which is recognized as the fastest expanding area within BD Pharmaceutical Systems.

Key Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will:

  • Formulate and articulate the vision and strategy for the Biologics segment, ensuring timely market introduction and scaling of new business ventures.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning process to define and disseminate the global business strategy.
  • Collaborate with various departments to provide strategic guidance aimed at achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and business goals.
  • Engage closely with Procurement to manage supplier and subcontractor relationships, ensuring alignment with operational strategies.
  • Partner with regional marketing teams on launch strategies, sales resources, public policy initiatives, advertising, and trade exhibitions.
  • Drive business expansion through innovative approaches and solutions.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience within the medical technology, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries.
  • Strong business insight and familiarity with the medical device market landscape.
  • A proven track record in designing, developing, and executing business strategies, translating them into actionable marketing plans, and achieving results.
  • The ability to cultivate robust relationships with key opinion leaders, clients, and potential or existing business partners.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills suitable for diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
