Role Overview
Aventa is seeking an experienced Offshore Analysis Engineer to join its engineering team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex design challenges for a wide range of renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of design briefs and design basis documents.
- Perform numerical analysis using industry-standard software (Orcaflex, Uflex) to determine cable configuration, extreme, interference, fatigue, and installation analyses.
- Interpret results and develop design solutions in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Produce design documentation, including feasibility reports, detailed in-place design reports, specifications, and material take-offs.
- Develop internal tools and collaborate with method engineers to support the development of installation procedures.
- Ensure design compliance with industry codes, standards, and design guides (API, DNV, ISO) and client specifications.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in hydrodynamics, marine engineering, naval architecture, or renewable energies.
- Relevant internships or work experience in the renewable marine energy and oil & gas industry, with a focus on global/installation analyses and in-place design of cables/risers/flexibles.
- Knowledge of FEA modeling and experience with cable and/or umbilical design.
- Fluent English language skills.

- Ability to undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, including design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, and bid evaluations.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined system engineering team.
- Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints.
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage time, and inform team members of constraints affecting a project.
- Personal interest in analysis tools and development (Python, VBA, etc.).
- Ability to work in a multicultural group and take initiatives.
Conditions
Based in Anglet, near Biarritz, with a permanent contract.
