AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is dedicated to driving revenue, adoption, and growth across a diverse range of customers, from small and mid-market accounts to large enterprise clients, including those in the public sector.

The AWS Global Support team collaborates with leading organizations, recognizing that exceptional support is vital for customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global network of clients who are developing mission-critical applications utilizing AWS services.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is on the lookout for a Deal Specialist to join the Strategic Customer Engagements (SCE) team. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with AWS clients on pivotal initiatives, enhance AWS's growth trajectory, and solidify AWS as their primary cloud technology provider.

As a Deal Specialist, you will collaborate with AWS Service teams to craft commercial business models. You will motivate and influence AWS customers, field sales executives, and various internal stakeholders to empower our clients in overcoming business challenges and devising innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
In this highly visible position, you will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the formulation of commercial strategies and deals, partnering in the execution of the sales cycle for strategic opportunities.
  • Work closely with AWS Service teams to gain insights into services and pricing, creating frameworks that positively impact customer outcomes.
  • Inspire and influence key internal stakeholders, experts, and other indirect resources to eliminate obstacles and achieve desired business results.
  • Advise on and construct commercial deal terms, understanding the competitive landscape to provide deal guidance.
  • Facilitate alignment and effective communication within AWS and with external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and foster productive interactions.
  • Promote best practices through analysis and reporting to support continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Several years of demonstrated success in working with customers on structuring substantial, strategic, and complex software or cloud services/infrastructure deals from opportunity through closure.
  • Experience in presenting to and negotiating with C-level executives, IT, lines of business, procurement, finance, and legal stakeholders for significant commercial/enterprise deals.
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling for commercial pricing terms.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Technology, or Finance (or equivalent work experience).
  • Fluency in English and French.

Preferred Qualifications
Additionally, candidates with the following qualifications will be favored:

  • An advanced degree.
  • An understanding of the technology ecosystem.
  • Direct field experience in working with enterprise or commercial accounts.
