JOB SUMMARY:

The Area Operations Manager is responsible for executing the Sourcing Strategy and achieving targets for the designated region.

This role entails ensuring operational excellence and efficiency in Contracting and Yielding processes, as well as fostering strong relationships with key strategic accounts within the region. Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively lead and develop the team to meet regional targets and key business objectives.
  • Establish a strong accountability culture by mentoring team members to enhance their individual strategies through skill development.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Director and G&DS to efficiently plan and execute strategic initiatives, providing clear guidance to implement key partnership programs.
  • Represent Area leadership in crucial hotelier meetings, negotiating with the Contracting Manager to focus on top Regional Chains that drive significant revenue.
  • Assist in resolving operational challenges related to internal tools, systems, or processes to support the team in achieving their objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills, with a proven track record in building and maintaining successful long-term commercial relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams towards achieving successful outcomes.
  • Experienced leader with a strong ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid experience in negotiating agreements and terms with suppliers.
  • Proven capability to cultivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong internal and external relationship-building skills, utilizing an open and consultative approach.
  • Highly developed communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate and teach a partnership approach to negotiation and sales.
  • Proficient in IT, including a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet technologies.
  • Comprehensive experience and commercial insight into the travel and hospitality sectors, including key competitors and industry trends.
  • Thorough understanding of internal systems and processes, as well as Sourcing expertise, to effectively guide the team in daily operations.
  • Knowledge of Revenue Management and Distribution.
  • Previous experience in contracting and negotiation with suppliers.
  • Familiarity with the geographical region or similar contracting practices with suppliers.
  • Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written.
