The Head of Software Development, Simulation will be responsible for leading the development of software solutions related to simulation, ensuring they meet the current and future needs of the company.
Key Responsibilities- Manage software projects, including leading and managing the software development team, providing technical guidance and mentorship, and contributing to the codebase.
- Act as a Scrum Master, working with stakeholders and Product Owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities.
- Ensure software is robust, efficient, and maintainable, and maintain the company's technological lead in GPGPU computing for sound pressure mapping calculations.
- Identify and recommend technologies that will support the future success of the business, and proactively manage technical debt.
- Evolve the architecture to adapt to new use cases and emerging requirements, and work closely with directors and other heads to define and enforce state-of-the-art implementation, design, and architecture.
- Work closely with the head of Software Validation to define and enforce state-of-the-art test plans, and implement mechanisms to monitor and report on the progress of software development activities.
- Manage the Software Development Team, act as a leader, and engage the team to think collectively.
- Generate enthusiasm, keep the team informed of the overall schedule and changes, and develop, coach, and train the team on best practices, processes, and standards as needed.
- Support the team, ask regularly, and resolve breakdowns, evaluate individual performance, and give credit, provide appropriate recognition, and constructive feedback.
- Lead and manage stakeholder communication and requirements, interface with other project teams to ensure clear and timely communication of project deliverables and status.
- Communicate if deliverables cannot be attained and get consensus on steps forward with relevant stakeholders, establish close working relationships with discipline leads, and report status at regular intervals, escalate urgent issues in a timely manner.
- Master's degree in computer science.
- 7+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficient in C++ programming language.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Excellent analytical skills, perseverance, and attention to detail.
- Curious, eager to learn, and quickly adapt to new requirements and technologies.
- Autonomous with a strong sense of responsibility.
