Job Summary

Orchestrade is seeking a highly skilled Energy & Commodity Business Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing scalable solutions, and maintaining our energy product framework.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, engineering, or computer science, with experience in object-oriented programming and a proven track record in the capital markets or energy space. You will be responsible for partnering with clients to capture and analyze business requirements, designing and developing solutions, and providing training and support to clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients to capture, review, and analyze business requirements
  • Design, plan, and develop scalable and fast solutions to solve business problems
  • Maintain and enhance the energy product framework in the system
  • Provide client and internal training of system knowledge
  • Write functional and technical specifications aimed at our development team
  • Test and validate of new developments
  • Ensure the highest software quality is provided for our clients

Requirements

  • MS degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields
  • Results-oriented, analytical approach with strong entrepreneurial problem-solving skills
  • Experience and understanding of object-oriented programming code (C#) – the ability to read and understand functional code is mandatory
  • Energetic, collaborative, and seeking to make a positive impact in the company
  • Pro-active approach and ability to work alone or in teams with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and organization skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Good communication and presentation skills for client meetings
  • Ability to articulate complex technical terms or processes into business language and present them as business solutions
  • 3+ years' experience working within technology (trading systems) in the capital market or energy space (on software vendor or client side) is a must-have
  • Proven expertise in one of the following areas is a must-have: simple or complex derivatives (exchange-traded or OTC), market data management, pricing and risk methodologies, middle and back office processes, electronic trading interfaces
  • Previous work experience within the energy space on ETRM is not required but would be a big plus
