Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Technician Grade 3 to join our team at Veolia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment plant, with a focus on chemical preparation, water sampling, and chlorine handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and handle chemicals for water treatment, under the guidance of the chemical coordinator/technical support engineer.
- Collect and transport water samples and chemical product samples to the laboratory for analysis.
- Load and unload chemicals, and transfer materials from one location to another.
- Support the maintenance team during plant shutdowns and other major activities.
- Ensure the safe disposal of unused chemicals.
- Understand and apply chemical classification and hazardous usage guidelines.
- Assist with laboratory analysis, maintenance, and housekeeping of chemical buildings and storage locations.
- Facilitate and maintain high EHS performance on site, adhering to site EHS regulations and procedures.
- Optimize and assist with the development of operational quality system procedures/guidelines/documents for water treatment.
- Ensure adherence to EHS and quality processes and procedures, identifying potential hazards and reporting incidents against company policies.
- Maintain appropriate housekeeping for plant facilities, cooperating with other departments.
- Work independently, with the ability to report to supervisors as needed.
- Determine the reasons for system or component malfunctions to solve problems.
Requirements
- Middle school/Matriculation/Grade 10/Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- At least 10-12 years' work experience in chemical preparation, particularly in sewage treatment and ultrafiltration/ reverse osmosis systems.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in water/wastewater treatment plant activities.
- Working experience in GCC countries.
