About the Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our team at Gleeds. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients in the real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives and positively engaging with customers to develop, grow, and maintain customer relationships.
- Deliver high-quality services and ensure that cost management deliverables meet customer requirements.
- Manage projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures.
- Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies, as well as cost planning and cost-in-use studies.
- Advise on and implement procurement strategies, prepare tender documentation, and manage the tender process.
- Evaluate and report on tenders, value completed work, and arrange for payments.
- Settle final accounts, provide technical advice on legal and contractual issues, and administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent.
- Produce and present reports to customers, mentor and coach employees to their full potential, and manage service delivery for profit.
- Advise Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen or might arise on projects, particularly those that might impact on Gleeds' professional indemnity (PI) insurance.
About the Candidate
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Cost Manager with a strong background in cost management in major construction projects, covering pre-contract and construction/post-contract cost management tasks in France. The ideal candidate will have:
8+ years of professional experience in the construction industry, with experience in hospitality real estate being desirable.Excellent knowledge of French construction regulation, practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, and knowledge of contractual forms of engineering missions.Understanding of legislation impacting building contracts, clear and effective communication skills, and a methodical way of thinking and approach to work.Organisational skills, the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments, and excellent problem, negotiating, finance, and numeracy management skills.Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to work as part of a team and manage teams.Proficiency in French and English, and based in Paris with possibly some travel.About Gleeds
