Real Time Embedded Software Project Director

Job Description:

You will be responsible for leading one or several software projects in close collaboration with developers, software architects, and technology group leaders. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the development and maintenance of the final product solution, with a clear emphasis on performance, quality, costs, and lead time constraints.



Main Responsibilities:


  2. Define project timelines, distribute tasks, and ensure software project targets are met.
  3. Manage all software development steps, following the V cycle or agile methodology, in line with department quality processes.
  4. Coordinate project software teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  5. Oversee the integration of software components and elements.
  6. Ensure milestones, deliverables, and software development budgets are met.
  7. Develop software project reports using discipline KPIs.
  8. Maintain technical relationships with customers and interface with them as needed.
  9. Contribute to software specification development.
  10. Play a key role in architectural alternatives decision-making, ensuring consistency with other disciplines.
  11. May be involved in software code implementation, including design, coding, reviews, static and dynamic unit tests, and integration tests.
  12. The development process may be subject to functional safety constraints (ISO , ISO,), cybersecurity features (ISO,), and development process standards (ASPICE).


Requirements:

This role requires a Master's degree in electrical engineering and embedded software development or a similar field.



A minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded real-time software development for electronic control units is necessary, including:




  2. At least 3 years of experience in developing low-level embedded software (BSP) with real-time constraints.
  3. At least 3 years of experience as an embedded software project leader.


Desired Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate should have:




  2. Experience in software project management, ensuring respect of delivery dates, development efforts/budget, and software quality.
  3. Experience as a functional team lead.
  4. Proficiency in the C language, with a focus on embedded and real-time constraints.
  5. Knowledge of 32-bit microcontroller architecture and development of low-level software (BSP -> Microcontroller/HW drivers, preemptive OS environment).
  6. Experience with embedded real-time software, including constraints related to interruptions, CPU load, and limited microcontroller resources.
  7. Familiarity with process-constrained development, including configuration management, change management, traceability management, design rules, and quality gates.
  8. Knowledge of configuration/change/requirement management tools, such as GIT, SVN, JIRA, Doors, Reqtify.
  9. Ability to access electrical schematics and component datasheets.
