Position Overview:

We are seeking a Project Planning Manager within our Planning team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are developed and maintained on schedule to fulfill our commitments to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with a Senior Project Planning Manager or Sub-System Manager, who oversees time management for their area, providing essential time management data to support decision-making aimed at achieving the expected On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance for projects.
  • Develop and maintain the internal project schedule for your designated area.
  • Efficiently manage the issuance of planning deliverables.
  • Facilitate the alignment of internal stakeholders.

Core Duties:

  • Contribute to the Project Time Management Plan established by the Senior Project Planning Manager.
  • Create the project schedule for your area, utilizing internal standard Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), contractual targets, and data from all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Project Manager on Earned Value Management.
  • Participate in validating the project baseline.
  • Ensure consistency among all internal and external stakeholder commitments and manage schedule interfaces.
  • Conduct schedule analysis and trade-offs to address identified gaps or issues.
  • Organize and lead regular project schedule meetings for your area.
  • Provide timely updates on the schedule status, highlighting discrepancies between actual performance and the baseline.
  • Focus on the early identification of potential delays, including critical paths, and monitor risks and schedule margins.
  • Prepare schedule and progress reports.
  • Support the sub-system manager with all matters related to the sub-system project schedule.
  • Implement the Project Scheduling Process.
  • Promote awareness of time management practices within the project team.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and improvements, sharing best practices and schedule templates.

Performance Metrics:

  • Regular and consistent updates to the schedule, including analysis of potential delays.
  • Timely delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and planning documents.
  • Standard metrics to measure schedule robustness.

Required Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Engineering degree (mandatory).

Experience:

  • Project management and industrial experience (mandatory).
  • Familiarity with internal processes such as Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Industrial, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Quality (mandatory).
  • Experience in project scheduling is advantageous.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of various scheduling tools.

Competencies:

  • Comprehensive understanding of railway products and in-depth knowledge of the Sub-System.
  • Ability to manage multiple schedule simulations, adapt to changing project goals, and demonstrate agility.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and multitask effectively.
  • Collaborative management style with a proactive approach to proposing solutions.
  • Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
