Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to join our Process Department. As a Mechanical Process Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex processes and equipment for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop process equipment, including mechanical and hydrodynamic sizing
- Participate in the development of process books, including conceiving flow schemes, simulating units, and developing P&IDs and mechanical drawings
- Prepare equipment specifications and optimize process schemes for recovery, energy efficiency, and costs
- Participate in technical project meetings, including project launches, PFD reviews, mechanical design reviews, PID reviews, and 3D Model reviews
- Provide technical support to the team in charge of equipment supply projects
- Supervise and provide technical support to drafting teams for schematic and mechanical work
- Maintain and develop process and mechanical tools
- Follow up on projects, including engineering document reviews
- Collaborate with Axens Technology and Start-up departments to improve processes
- Participate in research and development work with Axens New Development & Transformation Business Division and IFPEN
- Support customers during commissioning and start-up, as well as troubleshooting
- Contribute to integrating site feedback to continuously improve unit designs
Requirements
- Degree in mechanical engineering
- At least 3 years' experience in a process industry, including petrochemical or refining industry or engineering company
- Solid background in mechanical design and fluid mechanics, with some comprehension of heat transfer
- Knowledge of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams is a plus
- Fluent in English is required (written and spoken), French is appreciated
- Knowledge of mathematical calculation and programming language (VBA) is a plus
