Context and Opportunities

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at INRIA, a world-class research institute for digital science and technology. As part of our partnership with Nokia Bell Labs, we are looking for a skilled developer to work on a challenging project.

Project Overview

The goal of this project is to design and implement an algorithm that labels a grid or topology, allowing a robot to uniquely determine its location based on the combination of sensed labels. The fewer bits used to represent the labels, the better.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a graph coloring algorithm to label the grid
  • Develop a system to represent and manipulate the multiset of sensed labels
  • Collaborate with our team to integrate the algorithm with the robot's sensing system

Requirements

  • Strong background in combinatorics, graph theory, and discrete mathematics
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++
  • Experience with machine learning and deep learning techniques
